Do you know Vernsai Sany?

She released another single yesterday after a long while of silence! Titled “Last Night” and produced by Marc Eff of Kovapot, the song is mid-tempo and afro-makossa-ish with a little hip-hop flavor.

Sung in both French and English, Last Night by Vernsai Sany is a well-composed and easily relatable song. It is a song for everyone especially those who still believe in love.

The Interview:

What was your first experience with music?

Music has always been present in my life. Music had been there for as long as I can remember.

I started music professionally in 2020. Under the mentorship of Marc Eff Of Kovapot. I love music and Marc EFF believed in me and decided to help me in my journey.

How did you get into music?

Dijay free boy of BAMs production and Marc Eff Of Kovapot. But my family is at the base of it all.

What or who inspires you?

My greatest inspiration is my dream of making it big in music. I get inspiration from music legends like Richard BonaCharlotte DipandaAngélique Kidjo, and Daphne.

What song was the most difficult for you to write?

I See Fire was the most difficult song to write for me. There were a lot of emotions involved and I just couldn’t find the right words to put them down.

What is the most difficult thing about being a musician?

For me, the most difficult thing about being a musician is the ability to handle rejection and detrimental criticism.

What was the last song you wrote about?

The last song I wrote was a love song, yet to be released. It’s titled “soft”.

Who would you most like to collaborate with?

I’d love to collaborate with Daphne and Richard Bona. Also with Rinyu and Vernyuy Tina cause I relate a lot with them in terms of originality.

What is your songwriting process like?

My mood has a big impact on how I write. I like to write on topics that people can easily relate to. So I put myself in scenarios and try to get a reaction from myself (all in my head) then I put it down in lyrics.

?

I don’t have a clear vision of my career given the society we live in but I believe that with consistency and hard work, I can have my spot at the top of the chart of the Cameroonian music industry.

Do you have any advice for aspiring musicians?

My advice to anyone aspiring to do music is to first of all be sure of what they want then make sure they’re being oriented by the right people. They shouldn’t give up on their dreams because of other people’s bad experiences.

Someone said to me “there’s always going to be people who are better than you but remember that you have your destiny. Remain consistent in your work”. From my Best friend Denis.

Vernsai Sany is vibrant and very easy to relate to with a great sense of humor!
We had to confirm she is not an autotune artist by surprising her to do a little acapella for us which she did and we enjoyed it without having to cringe a bit!

She is talented with lots of potential and you can explore her body of work on the
